Vex 9 is the next new heart-pounding and horrifying adventure in the popular Vex series of platform games. It takes place inside of labyrinth levels across various Acts. The player's ultimate goal is to direct a parkour-loving stickman over, under and around challenging obstacles and deadly traps inside of enclosed mazes.
This version features yellow buttons in the upper-left area on the home screen. The player can use these buttons to view the access points to nine Acts and the Vex ultimate world, options to change the character's appearance to any one of more than 100 different skins, achievement medals, and the daily tasks and associated rewards. They can also access a super-hard challenge.
In each maze, the player directs the stickman to walk, run, jump, slide, leap, swim and even fly to reach the end. Most mazes feature common threats that can kill the stickman instantly. Even with three lives per maze, traps can bring the character to a bloody end in a wide range of ways. Blades, guns, maces and other weapons can buzz, impale, pop, slice or smash the stickman.
When the player finishes a maze, Vex 9 gives them any coins that they collected along the way. It also rewards them extra coins for completing achievements and tasks, such as failing less than three times or surfacing from a swim with only one bubble left. Some levels have time bonuses as well. The player uses their coins to perform the skin upgrades.
